Dr. Rolf Fronczek

Neurologist

Dr. Rolf Fronczek (MD/PhD) is a neurologist/somnologist working in the LUMC since 2016. During his PhD he studied the primary sleep disorder narcolepsy and the role of the hypothalamus, an important brain structure regulating sleep. His current clinical work entails general neurology, with a special focus on the treatment of headache and sleep disorders. He has specific expertise in cluster headache, including neuromodulatory treatment. Furthermore, he works one day a week in Sleep-Wake Centre SEIN, Heemstede. His current research focuses on the cause and new treatments of cluster headache and narcolepsy, since the hypothalamus plays a role in both disorders. He is also coordinator of the Neurology Master in the LUMC.
